How to measure the quality of TOF sensors?
The thermoelectric reactor detectors used by TOF sensors for measuring power tend to be large, with high damage thresholds and power measurements ranging from milliwatts to kilowatts. So how do you measure the quality of the TOF sensor? Let's take a look at it.
Semiconductor-based photodiode detectors are not only small in size, but also highly agile, and the power measurement range of high-volume TOF sensors varies.
1, pulse width
Most sensors have different fault thresholds based on peak power; when the pulse energy is the same, the peak power of the short pulse will be much higher than the time, which is more likely to destroy the sensor. The attenuation methods available to application users that exceed the fault threshold include consistency such as spectrometers, diffuse reflections, and neutral filters.
2, fault threshold and energy density
After the TOF sensor selects the appropriate probe to measure the laser or broadband source, the next topic to consider is the fault threshold. The user needs to know the measured power and energy density so that the probe is not damaged, which requires an understanding of the size and energy distribution of the point. The Gaussian beam has a very high power density at the top of the beam.
3, wavelength power and energy measurement range
When selecting a TOF sensor, consider that the measuring instrument should be able to measure in an unsaturated state. In general, the saturation current is the high power at the peak response, and high power measurements typically use an integrating sphere or optical attenuator to reduce saturation. Another important indicator of the system's coefficient is the signal-to-noise ratio at low measurable power/energy levels.
In summary, TOF sensor quality is measured by the sensor's wavelength range and power and energy measurement range, fault threshold and energy density, and pulse width. The working range of the hub indicators for each type of probe and measuring instrument of the TOF sensor varies widely. The hub of the TOF sensor selection is to match the output parameters of the laser or light source with the indicators of the detector and the instrument, ie the indicator of the measuring instrument should cover the output parameters of the laser.
