Laser distance sensor are generally divided into three types:

1.Handheld laser distance meter

The measurement distance is generally within 200 meters, and the accuracy is about 2mm. This is also the most common laser rangefinder on the market today. It is small, convenient, and easy to carry. In addition to being able to measure distance functionally, it is also generally possible to calculate the volume of the measurement object.

This type of laser rangefinder is generally used for long-distance measurement. The measurement distance is generally about 600-3000, but the accuracy is relatively low, and the accuracy is generally about 1 meter. The main application range is long-distance measurement in the wild, such as hunting and golf.

3.Industrial laser distance module

The measurement distance is about 0.5-200 meters, the accuracy is within 50mm, and a reflector is required to be installed 200 meters away. Some products can also measure speed at the same time as distance measurement. It is mainly used for position control, such as vehicles and ships; positioning cranes; loading and unloading and handling equipment; aircraft measurement, mainly for flying height measurement; metallurgical process control; measurement of inaccessible objects such as pipe fillings, pipes, containers, etc., and Water level measurement.
